OLBI is proud to announce the launch of a new mobile app, the Linguistic Risk-Taking Passport, in part thanks to generous support from the Molson Foundation. This $500,000 donation over four years will allow OLBI to expand the influence of the Francophonie and bilingualism across the University of Ottawa’s campus.

The Linguistic Risk-Taking initiative is lead by Professor Nikolay Slavkov

Users of the app challenge other users to take language risks in everyday life to encourage each other to practise speaking their second language. Read the article entitled “New app makes language learning a game,” to learn more about this app and the Molson Foundation donation.

“Our languages make our students, and our University, stronger. At OLBI, we are pleased to help guide and support students who dare to take the first step in the great adventure that is studying, working, and living in more than one language. Their courage and their actions enrich their own lives, but also our community,” says OLBI Director and Associate Dean of the Faculty of Arts Jérémie Séror.
