Adrianna Exposée
Former uOttawa student Adrianna Exposée, who’s hosting a Welcome Week drag show and bingo night, had her first paid gig right here.

“My journey into drag performance started back when I was in school. I remember asking if I could be part of the Frosh Week Welcome Week drag show as a performer, and guess what? That was my very first time getting paid for doing something I loved,” Adrianna says. “I was so confused when they handed me a cheque, but it was awesome. Juggling my studies with my passion was a bit tricky, but the staff were super understanding.”

Adrianna graduated with a uOttawa degree in translation (French-English) earlier this year. What did she gain from her time here?

“My time at uOttawa wasn’t just about books and classes — it was like learning the magic of language. This skill not only helped me talk to more people but also let me connect with those I might not have otherwise.”

“I’m seriously pumped to be part of an awesome lineup of performers. You can expect to see some incredible talents like Devona Coe, Karamilk, Sophia Sapphire, and Zak Zinya. It’s going to be a blast!

“Something that really warms my heart is seeing the celebration of diversity through events like these. When I was in school, I often felt like I was walking a tightrope between my dreams. It’s amazing that uOttawa keeps this spirit alive.”

“I want to say something important: Be yourself and own it. Your uniqueness is your superpower. The drag show and bingo night aren’t just events — they’re chances to meet others who ‘get you’ and create a safe space for one another during your time at uOttawa.”
