Tikinas Nedil

Tikinas Nedil, a student and mentor to her colleagues in the Civil Law Section, is the winner of the Student Award for Social Involvement, presented by the CBA Quebec Branch!

This is a well-deserved award for Tikinas, as her goal is to facilitate the integration of students at the University of Ottawa while allowing them to develop in their studies. She has held several positions that have supported her in achieving this goal, such as being a mentor in the Civil Law Section and the International Office, a resource person for the "Rights and Freedoms" course taught by Professor, the Middle East and North Africa Law Students Association of the University of Ottawa, and a note taker to facilitate the study of her fellow law students, all of which encompass her way of contributing to our community in order to make university studies more enjoyable and accessible. Tikinas Nedil has also contributed to access to justice through her participation in a Pro Bono project regarding the rights of temporary foreign workers and through her volunteer contributions to the Outaouais Community Justice Centre.

The Canadian Bar Association, Quebec Branch will officially present her with the award at the Presidential Dinner to be held at the Montreal Science Centre on June 15, 2022, in the presence of the Chief Justices of the Quebec courts, the Honourable Manon Savard, Jacques R. Fournier and Lucie Rondeau.

All members of the Civil Law Section join Dean Marie-Eve Sylvestre and Assistant Dean Pierre Thibault in saluting Tikinas Nedil's social commitment and warmly congratulating her on her award!
