Local Ottawa lawyer Lawrence Greenspon, who graduated from the Common Law Section in 1978, has been selected by the Law Society of Ontario as the winner of the 2022 Lincoln Alexander Award.

As per the Law Society’s announcement, “Lawrence Greenspon is highly respected in the Ottawa legal community. Described as “a champion of the underdog” — he works tirelessly to advocate for his clients. Despite his busy legal practice, Mr. Greenspon is one of the most well-known philanthropists in Ottawa. He is involved in countless charities and community programs that range from local initiatives to global ones” (Law Society announces 2022 award recipients).

The Lincoln Alexander Award recognizes commitment to the public and the pursuit of community service on behalf of residents of Ontario. The 2022 Law Society Awards Ceremony will be held on May 25, 2022.  Common Law’s Professor François Larocque will be receiving the J. Shirley Denison at the ceremony in recognition of his contributions to access to justice.
