Congratulations to Emma Runzer-Boucher and Nicholas Chase, first place , Amber Miller and Hanna Yemenu, second place, and James Phelan and George Monastiriakos, third place teams in the October 14, 2021, 22nd annual University of Ottawa / Dentons Canada LLP Negotiation Competition.
Twenty negotiation teams participated in a challenging negotiation on the terms of a complex business collaboration. Judges from the Dentons’ Ottawa office and faculty of law observed the negotiations and team self-analyses. All the participants demonstrated a high-level of preparation, negotiation, and communication skills and benefited from the judges’ constructive feedback. More than a competition, the event is an authentic learning experience.
The first-place team will represent the University of Ottawa at the upcoming Canadian National Negotiation Competition hosted by University of Ottawa Faculty of Law on March 4-6, 2022.
