Generally, the management of funds is handled by each Section’s financial services team.

uOttawa Policies and Regulations

The University of Ottawa has established a number of policies and regulations that serve as guidelines for the conduct of research. It is highly recommended that researchers familiarize themselves with these policies and regulations before beginning any research project.

Visit the uOttawa Policies and Regulations page, managed by Research Managment Services at the OVPRI to learn more about the policies that guide the appropriate use of grant funds. The page includes information on the following topics: 

  • administration of research grants and contracts 
  • working conditions for non-union contractual employees 
  • supply of goods and services 
  • reimbursement of travel and hospitality expenses, including reimbursement rates  
  • gifts, honoraria and incentives

Need an ethics certificate?

To prepare and submit your request for an ethics certificate, visit the website of the Office of Research Ethics and Integrity.

Request an extension for your project

Contact the Research Advisor to verify the end date of your project and to discuss the steps required for extending your grant.

Knowledge Mobilization

Knowledge Mobilization means promoting and facilitating the use of research among knowledge users (stakeholders, decision makers, policy makers, practitioners, community members, patients, etc.) to help them make informed decisions about policies, programs, practices and behaviours. It encompasses a wide range of activities relating to the production and use of knowledge generated from research such as knowledge synthesis, dissemination, and co-creation by researchers and knowledge users.
