As an experienced Nigerian lawyer, Ginika Ezeoke has extensive expertise in litigation, commercial and corporate law. With exceptional negotiating skills, she specializes in various fields such as corporate, energy and securities law, regulatory compliance, mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions, secured financing, as well as labor and health law.
Following her admission to the LLM in Law and Technology, the excellence of her portfolio and the relevance of her research topic on the ethics surrounding artificial intelligence (AI) and technology led to her selection as the first recipient of the Ian R. Kerr Fellowship in the fall of 2023.
Her project involves conducting a comparative analysis of artificial intelligence (AI) governance in Nigeria and Canada. Her area of research, focusing on AI governance and balancing the digital transition with the protection of human rights, with particular attention to the case of Africa, will position her as a significant contributor to the dialogue on technology and law.

The Ian R. Kerr Fellowships are designed to support the pursuit of an LL.M. in Law and Technology for students from non-traditional backgrounds or perspectives, or from abroad, who are not usually supported by traditional funding programs.
