Biography

Naomi Brearley is a Communications Assistant at the University of Ottawa Centre for Law, Technology and Society.

With a keen interest in the intersection of law, business, technology and creative industries, Naomi Brearley came with a prior background in corporate law, fashion business management, social media communications and digital marketing. 

Previously, Naomi Brearley was part of the Centre for Law, Technology and Society as a Technoship Fellow with Professor Amy Salyzyn, focusing on the legal and ethical implications of AI and AI-based technologies, as a Summer Research Fellow with Scotiabank PhD Scholar Ana Andrijevic, focusing on the copyright implications of AI on visual artists. 

Prior to joining the Centre, Naomi Brearley was a 1L participant in the 2L uOttawa x LeClair Metaverse Moot and studied at the University of Geneva’s Digital Law Summer School (Switzerland).
