This gathering is meant to empower incoming and current Black students in their academic pursuits, foster a real sense of belonging and celebrate our Black student community’s incredible diversity and accomplishments. Whether you’re an undergraduate or graduate student, you’ll have the chance to connect, learn and thrive!

An assortment of refreshments will be offered by local caterers, reflecting the rich flavours and traditions of Black culture .

This event is organized under the auspices of Awad  Ibrahim, vice-provost for equity, diversity and inclusive excellence, and sponsored by the Air Canada Professorship in Anti-Racism. It has been boosted by the contributions of dynamic uOttawa PhD candidates Karine Coen-Sanchez and Marthe Foka, two  empowering Black women whose grassroots initiatives aim to bolster and enrich the experiences of Black and racialized  students.
