The milestones listed below are the important steps that need to be taken during your undergraduate studies in order to meet your program requirements and transition into your graduate program.

Important deadlines

Year 3 (first year in the undergraduate program)

Winter term

Spring/Summer Term after 3rd year

  • Work in your Supervisor’s laboratory for the spring/summer term.

Year 4 (second year in the undergraduate program)

Fall term

  • Assemble your Thesis Advisory Committee (TAC) with your Supervisor’s approval.
  • Submit the Thesis Advisory Committee Members Form (PDF) through the service request application under Thesis Advisory Committee category by December 15, 2025.

Winter term

Spring/Summer Term after 4th year (transition to graduate studies).

  • Start working in your supervisor’s lab on your thesis research.

Year 5 (Graduate studies) 

Fall term 

Winter term

  • Hold your second TAC meeting and submit the TAC Report Form (PDF) through the service request application under Thesis Advisory Committee category.
  • Students planning to graduate at the Spring–Summer Convocation:
    At your final TAC meeting, you must present your research data and formally request permission to write your thesis full time.
    Once permission is granted, submit one of the following forms via a Service Request under the TAC category:
  • Thesis submission (Spring–Summer Convocation only):
    Students who intend to graduate at the Spring–Summer Convocation must follow the thesis submission timeline outlined for that convocation.
  • Important note: You are not required to submit your thesis by the end of the Winter term. This timeline applies only to students intending to graduate at the Spring–Summer Convocation

Integrated BSc/PhD (TMM) students

The Annual Progress Report and TAC meeting requirements must be completed each year until permission to write the thesis has been granted.
