The Surface Nanoengineering Lab (SNL) is a research environment which focuses on the physicochemical characterization of synthetic and biological surfaces as well as cellular and molecular phenomena (e.g. protein- and cell-surface interactions). The SNL combines a multidisciplinary approach to science which encompasses biomaterials and surface science, nanotechnology and biophysics. The laboratory's research interests range from the investigation of the mechanisms that control cellular response to nanostructured substrates to the development of multifunctional surfaces for applications in regenerative medicine and drug delivery.
The SNL supervises students from graduate programs in Mechanical, Chemical and Biomedical Engineering, Cellular and Molecular Medicine and Physics,in collaboration as co-supervisor.
