Union Guide for Return-to-Work Support and Accompaniment in situations relating to Mental Health and Psychological Harassment: From Rehabilitation to Prevention

About

This project proposes to continue the development and implementation of an individual and organizational return-to-work support approach for people who are returning to work after absence because of a mental health or psychological harassment problem.

Building on the Guide to an integrated practices program for supporting a return to work and promoting job retentionthis project will design a guide more specifically for union stakeholders. This guide is based on the work of St-Arnaud and Pelletier (2013), which takes into account both the dimensions/situations of work that have contributed to the deterioration of workers' mental health or psychological harassment, and the dimensions/situations of work that are likely to help the worker return to work and maintain his or her employment.

The intervention perspective falls within the field of occupational health and aims to support the transition from an individual approach focused on rehabilitation to an organizational approach that goes beyond individual support to prevention.  In short, it involves moving from an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) to an Organizational Assistance Program (OAP).
