The uOttawa Library Advisory Committee plays a central role in maintaining the library’s strong connection to academic units at the University of Ottawa. Members of the Advisory committee are engaged in providing input to inform Library services, assessment, and strategic directions in support of research and learning.

The uOttawa Library Advisory Committee plays a central role in maintaining the library’s strong connection to academic units at the University of Ottawa.
Purpose
Mandate
In its role as an advisory body, the Committee:
- enhances the library’s ability to consult and communicate with academic units and representatives of key campus communities;
- provides input on library approaches for sustainable collections;
- strikes working groups to carry out specific activities, as needed;
- serves as advisor, ambassador, and advocate for the library’s unique and essential role in the institution’s academic mission.
Roles and responsibilities
All Committee members will be expected to:
- communicate priorities of academic units or respective community to the library and the library’s activities to their home units;
- attend meetings and to actively initiate, contribute, and participate in all aspects of the work and discussions;
- between meetings, participate in email or online exchanges relating to library priorities, planning, and assessment;
- share experience, knowledge, and information;
- seek out information required to advance discussion, initiatives, and activities to fulfil the committee’s mandate.
