In a cotutelle doctoral program, you receive support and discover different scientific approaches and fresh perspectives from two research and academic communities. At the end of your cotutelle program, you will have obtained two doctoral degrees. The cotutelle program encourages you to reach beyond familiar borders to enhance your education and take part in a world-class research network. What is a cotutelle?
Eligibility
Doctoral candidates enrolled at the University of Ottawa (Canadian citizens, permanent residents, recognized refugees or international candidates)
All doctoral students duly admitted to a doctoral program at uOttawa may be eligible for a cotutelle provided they have an admission average of 8.0 and obtain the approval of their thesis supervisor and their faculty.
Doctoral candidates enrolled at another university
Doctoral candidates wishing to do a cotutelle with the University of Ottawa must adhere to the conditions specified above. In addition, you must submit an application for admission to the doctoral program, and be offered admission to the program.
Cotutelle Scholarship
Doctoral candidates whose home university is the University of Ottawa are eligible to a cotutelle scholarship for the period of study at the partner university. The cotutelle scholarship consists of a non-recurring, one-time sum of $5,000. This scholarship cannot be combined with the PhD Student mobility scholarship.
