Anchored and Aligned: People, Systems, and Purpose in Family Medicine
Retreat Learning Objectives:
- Analyze strategies to strengthen Family Medicine’s role as a comprehensive clinical and academic discipline, including approaches that support high-quality, patient-centred care across diverse practice settings and population
- Examine how structural and system-level factors, including workload, administrative burden, misinformation, and access barriers, affect physician well-being, equity, and patient outcomes, and identify strategies for meaningful change.
- Critically assess the impact of emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, on clinical decision-making, education, professionalism, and trust within Family Medicine.
- Identify and apply approaches that promote equity, cultural safety, and workforce sustainability, including strategies that support Indigenous health, Francophone and bilingual care, and mentorship pathways for physicians from underrepresented groups.
