- Limitations of information: The information provided by the chatbot is generated based on user input and an underlying algorithm. The University of Ottawa does not guarantee the accuracy, timeliness or completeness of the information and is not liable for any errors, omissions or inaccuracies, including any scheduling errors or miscommunications.
- Health-care provider consultation recommended: Users are strongly advised to consult a qualified health-care provider for any medical concerns or questions. The information provided by the chatbot should not be relied upon for medical and health-care decision-making. Users should verify any critical information with a health-care professional or directly with the Student Health and Wellness Centre.
- Modifications and availability: The University reserves the right to modify, add or remove services provided by the chatbot without notice. The University may temporarily or permanently discontinue the chatbot at its discretion and makes no guarantee regarding its availability.
- User privacy and data handling: Users should not input any sensitive personal information in the chatbot prompt box. Interactions with the chatbot may be recorded for quality assurance and training purposes. These recordings will not be included in your medical or student file, except when the chatbot schedules an appointment on your behalf. In such cases, your name and any necessary information will be shared only for the purpose of booking the appointment with the relevant unit or provider, who will maintain a record of the appointment. - Use of data: The University may use anonymous chatbot data for the purposes of understanding how people use the chatbot, ensuring its proper functioning and improving its quality and efficiency.
- Retention: Chatbot data will be maintained by the University for a period of one year and may be retained longer under limited, specific circumstances.
- Governing law: The laws of Ontario and applicable laws of Canada apply.
- Severability: If any provision of these terms of use is deemed invalid or unenforceable, the validity of the remaining terms will not be affected.
